Troop 304 Campout at Camp Sayre

Camp Sayre is off of Route 95, less than an hour from Belmont. It is a well outfitted camp with both lean-tos and cabins. We stayed in the lean-tos and spent Saturday hiking up to the top of the Blue Hills.

The tower at the top (80736 bytes) At the top of the Blue Hills is this old stone lookout tower.
Vew from the top (96025 bytes) The tower provides quite a view of Boston and the surrounding area.
Resting (67573 bytes) The tower also provided a resting point before returning home.
Staying dry (111181 bytes) It started to rain as we arrived back to our camp.
Gathering wood (159873 bytes) Keeping warm, meant starting a fire! The first step was to find dry wood....
Chopping wood (129632 bytes) Larger wood had to be split.
Tending the fire (167110 bytes) The Camp provided two neat fire pits that reflected the heat into the lean-tos.
