What to Pack for Camp

Required Equipment

Having the proper equipment for an outing or overnight campout is more than just being comfortable, it's a safety issue. A sleeping bag rated for 20 degrees or above is inadequate and dangerous when the temperature drops to below zero. Similarly, climbing up a steep mountainous trail requires hiking boots with the proper support to prevent injury to your ankles.

Troop 304 wants to ensure that everyone has a safe and fun time on our outings. As a result, we require a minimum set of equipment that varies depending on the season. You're encouraged to leave your gear at your patrol leader's house a few days befor the campout, so he can check off  that you have everything you need. Your gear will be are delivered to the drop-off point the day of the trip.
